JTC operates three quarries on the Island, producing sand, gravel and all grades of crushed rock at Dereneneach Quarry on the String Road near Shiskine.

We have several grades of stone, sand and gravel in stock at all times and can also produce special grades to order, for large quantities.

We have a wide range of quarry materials available for uplift or delivery:

Angular Crushed Chips – 10mm, 20mm & mixed

Chips are ideal for garden landscaping, decorative driveways, car parking areas, drainage, and mixing concrete.

Gravel / Pebbles – 10mm, 20mm, 30mm & 50mm

We have four different sizes of gravel available for use on driveways, garden landscaping, pipe bedding (pea gravel) and drainage.

Clean Stone – 50mm

Fine materials have been removed from our clean stone and it is therefore suitable for use in wet conditions, such as drainage works.

Gabion & Armour Stone

Commonly used for filling gabion baskets or for other coastal and ground stabilization works.

Type 1 Hardcore

Type 1 is a mix of crushed stone from 40mm down to dust which creates a compact aggregate with excellent load bearing qualities.

Concrete Sand, Building Sand & Concrete Mix

We can supply concrete sand for concrete mix and block paving base, and building sand for mortar and floor screeds.

Cobbles – Large & Medium

Our glacially shaped cobbles are ideal as a focal point for any landscaping design, garden border, fish pond or rockery.

We also have crusher run, 'as dug', walling stone and fines available. Call or email us for a competitive quote for uplift or delivery.

Our Concrete Plant is situated at Market Road in Brodick, from where we can deliver ready mixed concrete throughout the island.
Our concrete plant and mixes are BSI Quality Assured as accredited by UKAS.
This means that we a hold BSI Kite mark License for our concrete production and that we fully comply with BSEN 206-1 and BS8500.
We supply sustainable concrete mixes as standard, this can save up to 130 kg/of CO2 per m3 depending on the mix design.
Sustainable concrete mixes also reduce the risk of thermal cracking and increase the durability, especially in coastal locations.
Our engineer, Adrian Cannon, has a qualification in Concrete Technology and can assist with any special requirements.
